Rosemont High has always been known for its strong traditions and its exceptional student body. Our halls have a character that is hard to describe, yet impossible to miss, and every year our students bring a level of passion and personality that keeps this place lively in all the best ways.

250 years of Rosemont

Did you know our school is older than the country? It's true, by two full months and some spare days. Rosemont opened in April of 1776, when Lady Augusta Evercrest, a wealthy socialite from England, founded an academy for Latin, anatomy and "the study of the human soul" (nobody in the library could tell us what that one was).

An Evercrest ran the school for generations, until Reginald Evercrest IV fell sick and died in 1921 and left it to a board of directors. Then in 1993 the board hired Phineas Evercrest, the first Evercrest headmaster in over seventy years, and the first ever who doesn’t own the place. We asked him how that feels.

He just smiled.

Behind every Rosemont student stands a teacher who saw something in them first. Our faculty are scholars, coaches and mentors, many of whom once walked these same halls as students themselves.

They hold our students to the highest standard, and they never stop watching over them.
